Three observations from the week. First, Netflix's two simultaneous direct-to-streaming Telugu releases on 1 May — Biker and Raakaasa — continue the pattern we noted in the previous roundup, where Netflix is acquiring a noticeably higher volume of Telugu films than its 2025 baseline. Both lean genre — motocross drama and a fantasy-comedy about a village curse — which is a different shape from Netflix's usual prestige-skewed acquisitions.

Second, 1 May was unusually crowded — five of the seven titles landed on the same day. May 1 is a common slot for streaming partners to align with public holidays in markets where weekday viewing dips, and we tend to see release clusters on those calendar landmarks throughout the year. Worth keeping in mind if you are trying to plan a watchlist around weekend availability.
